Shipping policy

 STRUCTURE OVERVIEW

WESTERN STATES
• Orders under $99 → $12.85 flat rate
• Orders $99 and above → Free shipping

CENTRAL AND EASTERN STATES
• Per-Plant Delivery fee:
  – 1 gallon  → $18.95 per plant
  – 2 gallon  → $32.50 per plant

  • If you live in CA, OR, WA, ID, UT, CO, NM, and NV – we use UPS Ground – it will get there as fast as 3-Day Select

  • If you live in States  other than CA, OR, WA,ID, CO, AZ, UT and NV – in Summer we ship 3 Day Select to insure that your plants will arrive in top condition.  When trees are dormant in winter (November through March 1) we use Ground Shipping  – shipping will take 5 days or less.

  • We no longer ship to Hawaii and Alaska.                                                                     

  • We pack and ship on Mondays – the cut off time for a Monday shipment is noon the day before  (Sunday).  

  • PLEASE notify us if you want to hold your order. 

  • The day we ship your order we will notify you by email the day your order is to arrive along with a tracking number. 

  • Once we have shipped your order, Mendocino Maples cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen packages. You must notify UPS.

  • If your order is packed and you want to cancel or change the order before it ships there will be a 30% restocking fee assessed. This includes change of shipping date after it is packed

Shipping Procedures

To facilitate low stress during shipping, your plant will be shipped in it’s container. Since our plants are container grown it is easy to ship you plants that will arrive in great health.

On Occasion – we will need to trim the tops of plants taller than 48″ tall.  This will not effect the long term growth and appearance of the plant. We do this to reduce UPS shipping costs by $30.  Let us know before we ship if you do not want this to happen and are willing to pay the extra cost in shipping.

Requests For Shipping Dates 

If you would like your shipment sent a particular week we are happy to do that. When checking out specify the ship date in the “Order notes” area.

While we do our best to meet your requested shipping date, plant availability and extreme hot or cold temperatures may affect the exact week your order will be shipped.  

NOTE: We are happy to hold trees for up to two months during the dormant season, but prefer to hold no longer than 3 weeks in the growing season. Please choose shipping accordingly.

Shipping Protection

Unfortunately, our main carrier, UPS is not willing to insure live plants, and their handling can be questionable at times. Please refer to our Guarantee page to see the details on what options are available if a plant is damaged at the hands of UPS.

We do not Ship Internationally

SHIPPING COSTS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.
