Acer circinatum Pacific Fire

Pacific Fire is my favorite cultivar of Acer circinatum. Pacific Fire has flaming red bark in the winter that dazzles in the landscape with color. The orange - red bark has a waxy sheen to it that really makes the bark shine. Nice bronzing of the leaves when placed in full sun. A multibranching shrub/tree like the species but slower growing. Fall color is bright yellows with some orange which really make a show against the firery bark! 10 feet in 8 years. . Sun / part shade  Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.

 


Bihou

Bihou

Bihou –NEW! Bihou exhibits outstanding winter interest with an unusual, golden yellow, apricot colored bark. Like the Coral Bark maple, this plant will add vitality to your winter landscape. A small, upright tree with yellow-green leaves. Bihou is also known as Bi hoo. A Vigorous grower to 10' or so.   Fall color is yellows and oranges. Prefers sun/partial shade. Zone 6-9.

Coral Bark Japanese Maple

The Coral Bark maple has beautiful red winter twigs which are the attraction with this fine Japanese maple. The Coral bark maple is also known as Acer palmatum Sango Kaku, the Lovely green leaves turn golden yellow in fall. Sango kaku will grow to about 12' in ten years. Sun/ part shade.

 


Full Moon Maple

Full Moon Maple

Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum'  known as 'The Full Moon Maple'  or "Golden Full Moon maple" has large chartruese orbicular leaves with bright red petioles which make this one of the most desired maples. The golden color develops when the Full Moon is placed in a sunny location. The Full Moon is rather slow growing this maple will reach 8 feet tall in 10 years. Brilliant orange and red fall colors (as shown in photo at left). Sun / part shade.
